The Verve - The Interview
I’ve decided that since The Interview (a promo for Urban Hymns from September 1997 in which Richard and Simon answer questions) is pretty hard to come by, it’d be nice and something different if a couple of times a week I posted a track from it, along with the question it corresponds to.  Richard and Simon talk mainly about various topics relating to Urban Hymns, the Verve’s...

Verve Trivia Post #11
In 1992, on their first visit to New York, The Verve (or just Verve as they were known then) set up their gear on the back of a truck and drove around Times Square playing extended versions of A Man Called Sun. Richard recalls: “It was amazing! Everyone was dancing, from the pimps to the prostitutes to the tourists. Everywhere we went, people got into this rhythm and started dancing.” ...

Verve Trivia Post #10
After having been together officially for only 12 months, The Verve (or just Verve as they were known then) signed to Hut Records in September 1991. Once back in Wigan, the advance of the record deal was spent on drugs, food, beer and… lasagne. Richard apparently had lasagne delivered to his door every day for six months.
